The multidisciplinary conference will gather together the relatively small number of scholars who research the international Indigenous movement, its history and its connections around the world. This may include research on global Indigenous organizations (like the World Council of Indigenous Peoples or the International Indian Treaty Council), regional Indigenous organizations workings across state borders (like the Saami Council or the Coordinadora Andina de Organizaciones Indígenas), individual Indigenous internationalists, international Indigenous conferences, and Indigenous activity at the United Nations.

The conference will be organized as a public workshop, meaning delegates will be asked to present new research that has not yet been published, which could use additional insight from their peers. All presenters will be required to circulate their draft papers one month in advance, so that all guests have read each other’s work in advance of the workshop.

Interested parties should submit both a one-page proposal and a CV by 15 July 2018 to: jonathan.crossen@uit.no

Costs and funding:
The conference has been provided sufficient funding to cover some or all travel expenses for presenters. Presenters are responsible for the cost of their own accommodations in Tromsø, and for the conference fee, which includes the cost of meals during the conference. Observers are also invited to register to attend.

Registration:
