New York University Abu Dhabi has established a campus in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and its Opportunities Program (OP) invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track position to teach Global Histories to academically outstanding students from the UAE. Global Histories will follow the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum that will be structured to address gaps in background knowledge of OP students.
Appointments are for one year and subject to renewal. Instructors teach four sections (or their equivalent) of courses over the academic year, work directly with OP students, and participate in program activities. Applicants should have a minimum of two years of experience teaching World History in a secondary school or in a college or university and/or be certified to teach. Applicants must have an advanced degree; PhD is preferred. NYUAD is looking for creative individuals who are flexible, outgoing, open to new environments, and respectful of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
Instructors will attend orientation in August, will participate in regular professional development workshops throughout the academic year, and are encouraged to participate actively in the intellectual life of NYUAD.
