The Association of Leipzig University SYLFF Fellows (a.l.u.s.) in cooperation with KOMOEL invites all interested persons to submit a paper proposal for the conference, to be held on January, 11-13, 2006 in Leipzig.
In May 2004 eight Central and Eastern European states joined the European Union. Despite this historic accession, an exchange between scientists from the new neighbour states in the East and from the old Europe rarely takes place.
The conference extends the opportunity to young scientists from Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic to examine together Europe after the enlargement and to study the new challenges of the processes of this change. The conference will also look into the ways researchers try to study these issues, addressing the theoretical and methodological debates. Which are the common features and where are the divides?
Everyone should feel invited to contribute with a presentation of his or her research results to the discussion of the current phenomena, including but not limited to the following disciplines and fields of research:
1) Law
2) Politics
3) Economics
4) Society and Culture
We strongly encourage cross-national and multi-disciplinary perspectives.
Paper abstracts of up to 2 pages and a curriculum vitae should be sent with full contact details (E-mail. Telephone, Postal address) to:
Stefan Jarolimek: stefan.jarolimek@web.de
and/or to Makhabbat Kenzhegaliyeva: machabbat@gmail.com
Deadline for submission of abstracts: 18th December 2005.
The working language of the conference will be English.
The organizers plan to publish conference papers, pending availability of funds. The presenters are requested upon submission to indicate an interest in including their paper in these published conference papers.
