Your Tasks
The project explores the emergence, implementation, and impact of real estate valuation standards in the UK and the Federal Republic of Germany between 1970 and ca. 1995 in two sub-studies that examine the debates on valuation standards for real estate in the UK (sub-study 1) and the Federal Republic of Germany (sub-study 2) in their respective international contexts (More information can be found under the following link https://www.uni-bielefeld.de/sfb1288/ausschreibungen.html). For the processing of sub-study 2, we are looking for an employee to work part-time within the sub-project.
The tasks include in particular:
- independent scientific processing of sub-study 2 (working title: “Standardization of real estate valuation in the FRG since the 1970s”) and the preparation of a monograph on this topic. The methodological framework of the SFB as well as more recent economic, sociological approaches to the study of markets, prices, and valuations must be taken into account
- participation in the joint research work and discussion in sub-project F04 [B07] as well as participation in events, such as project-internal workshops
- participation in the comprehensive discussion and research work of the SFB as well as conceptual and organizational participation in joint events
- cooperation in the academic self-administration of the Faculty of History, Philosophy, and Theology
Your Profile
We expect
- completed university degree (Master, Magister, Diplom, Staatsexamen, M. Sc.) in the field of history, economics, or sociology
- knowledge of economic history of the 20th and 21st century
- communication skills and ability to work in a team
- german language skills at least at B2 level (if not available: willingness to acquire them)
- good to very good written and spoken English
- independent, responsible, and committed working style
- cooperative and team-oriented working method
- strong organizational and planning skills
- interest in theoretical issues
Preferable qualifications
- knowledge of German and basic knowledge of British history of the 20th and 21st centuries
- interest in cross-epochal issues
Remuneration
Salary will be paid according to Remuneration level 13 of the Wage Agreement for Public Service in the Federal States (TV-L). As stipulated in §2 (1) sentence 1 of the WissZeitVG (fixed-term employment), the contract will end on 31st December 2024. In accordance with the provisions of the WissZeitVG and the Agreement on Satisfactory Conditions of Employment, the length of contract may differ in individual cases. The employment is designed to encourage further academic qualification. The position is advertised as 65 % part-time job. In individual cases, this percentage may be reduced on request, as long as this does not conflict with official needs.
