The Department of Global Political Studies (GPS) is a multidisciplinary research and educational environment consisting of eight subjects: European Studies, Peace and Conflict Studies, Gender Studies, International Migration and Ethnic Relations (IMER), International Relations, Caucasus Studies, Human Rights, and Political Science. The Department’s educational programmes and research focus on global processes of change and their impact on societies and individuals.
The study of global politics is multidisciplinary and includes approaches from the humanities as well as the social sciences. The scientific core of Global Politics is the study of transnational and international politics.
Doctoral positions are time-limited, four-year salaried employments with full benefits. Those employed as doctoral students will mainly carry out their own postgraduate studies (their work being located at Malmö University). Departmental duties (generally: teaching) of 20% may be required. The regulations regarding employment as a doctoral student are found in the Swedish Higher Education Ordinance Ch. 5 Sections 1-7).
